As a matter of fact, we already know three trainers who certainly won't be returning and that is Bill O'Brien, Dan Quinn and Matt Patricia, that got axed during the season. Three in-season firings has been the highest amount the NFL has seen since 2010 when four coaches got let go.

Heading to the 2021 offseason, there could be as many as six teams trying to find a new trainer and that number could jump even higher if people see any shock moves. We are going to be monitoring all the latest news as teams start their hunt for the right coach. To keep you up to date on the latest firings, rumors and hirings, be certain to keep tabs on the coaching tracker beneath.

Since then, the Texans have hired a research firm to assist them find their new trainer. According to ESPN.com, the search firm has advocated Seahawks offensive coordinator Brian Schottenheimer as someone Houston should consider hiring. It's also believed that Houston will have its attention on Chiefs offensive coordinator Eric Bieniemy. Though the Texans have not officially interviewed both of those candidates, they've conducted at least 2 interviews and people came with former NFL head coaches Marvin Lewis and Jim Caldwell. The Texans also have an open GM job along with the belief is they'll fill that role before hiring a new coach.

Since shooting Dan Quinn at October after an 0-5 start, the Falcons were playing things close to the vest about who they might hire next. In the time since Quinn was let go, the group has only officially interviewed one candidate and that's interim coach Raheem Morris. Based on NFL.com, the Falcons also appear to have their eye on defensive coordinators Todd Bowles (Buccaneers) and Brandon Staley (Rams) along with Titans offensive coordinator Arthur Smith. Although the Falcons have to set up a meeting with any of these three, they have setup two interviews for Monday. One of those interviews would be with 49ers defensive coordinator Robert Saleh while another one will probably be with Chiefs offensive coordinator Eric Bieniemy. The Falcons are also in the market for a GM after firing Thomas Dimitroff.

The Lions gave the NFL that a Thanksgiving surprise once the team decided to fire Patricia just two days after their 41-25 blowout loss to the Texans on Turkey Day. Since the shooting, the Lions have ran only one interview and that arrived in the end of December with former Bengals coach Marvin Lewis. The Lions are also expected to Have a Look at Northwestern trainer Pat Fitzgerald, according to CBS Sports NFL Insider Jason La Canfora.
